Our weddings and main events season may be almost over for another year, but instead of retreating for our annual break, Philip and I find ourselves rather taken with excitement and enthusiasm for the quieter months to come - because this winter, new plans are in the pipeline for our country house weddings and events. Plans that will come to fruition in readiness for our 2020 diary and all future bookings.
2019 has been a fantastic year - with beautiful weddings, our best ever garden festival, and group visits too. So as we prepare for the 10th year of opening our home - it feels right to build on what we already offer, by introducing a few changes that excite us, as well as something that we know our clients will love just as much as we will.
Since restoring and developing the Coach House and Italian Terrace to create additional space for our weddings and events in 2015, we've been incredibly pleased to have received high praise and wonderful feedback from visitors and guests.
The Coach House is without doubt a great string to our bow when it comes to our weddings especially, which has encouraged Philip and I to think carefully about how we can build on this asset, to offer greater flexibility for our wedding couples - whilst maintaining all of the special qualities that have become part of our unique tapestry here at Coombe Trenchard.
Wedding trends come and go, and couples’ individual ideas are of course unique to them - yet we’ve found ourselves chatting more and more about how bookings can make the most of the Coach House…
It’s a space that people love, it’s a space readily available for our weddings in addition to the main house at no extra cost, and this semi-restored gem seems to be capturing everyone’s imagination.
So it’s time to make it even better.
The use of natural materials in all their beauty, paired with rustic chic, country house charm, bundles of garden blooms, candle light and cosy corners of an evening, will all remain - but with fresh eyes applied to both the layout and the design, we will revamp the Coach House to take the relaxed luxury this space lends to another level, at the same time increasing our seating capacity for guests, and expanding the bespoke services we just love to offer.
The new design will enable wedding parties of up to 100 guests to enjoy their wedding ceremony, or reception and evening party in the Coach House, increasing our capacity by 30 guests.
This change alone, will significantly reduce the need for clients to hire a marquee on the Italian Terrace, creating a huge saving for our bridal couples.
We’ll build more wooden tables to match what we already have, ensuring couples can go to our new maximum number without compromising the styling of such an important occasion.
With an increased capacity for guests, comes a change of plan, in fact a better placed plan for couples’ chosen caterers - in the form of a brand new dedicated catering space adjoining the rear of the Coach House - facilitating even greater food preparation and service for each booking.
The snug and the former bar area, both loved by us all, will also be given a sympathetic yet striking new lease of life - brightening the spaces with new lighting and hand picked luxurious details, without compromising the charm that couples and their guests adore.
We have in fact decided to create a quirky new bar of our own within the old stable adjoining the Coach House. After some gentle persuasion, Philip has convinced me it’s time to offer our very own Coombe Trenchard in-house bar facility for 2020.
Situated in the old stable, our bar facility will be tucked discreetly away for those that may not require it - and for those that will wish to have a bar, the arrangements will be as bespoke and as beautifully tailored as all our services are.
Think quirky glassware, a touch of vintage treasure, handfuls of herbs and garden flowers, and a bijoux selection of artisan spirits, ciders, and craft beer.
We’ll be only too pleased to chat about your favourite drinks and build them into your bar menu to perfectly compliment an evening of great celebration.
To chat more about these exciting new additions for Coombe Trenchard wedding and party bookings - as an existing couple keen to take advantage of these new developments, or as a new enquiry eager to discover more about us - do feel free to contact me at any time.
Philip and I are ready to embrace this new chapter at Coombe Trenchard and feel certain the changes will be warmly received by many moving forward.
